Lauren Canary, an infectious diseases epidemiologist, shares information on the barriers to care for hepatitis C facing people who use drugs, and provides some strategies providers can use to help overcome some of these barriers.

Lauren Canary

Lauren Canary, MPH, received her graduate training at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. She was most recently the Executive Director of the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable after spending 5 years at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention where she addressed medicaid HCV treatment restrictions, syringe services access, and viral hepatitis prevention among people who use drugs. She has served on the board of directors for the Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition and has been involved in both street outreach and legislative action in Georgia.
