In this presentation, Anna Stiefvater, will discuss safe sleep practices to reduce the chance of SIDS, or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, setting up a safe sleep environment and share valuable safe sleep resources.

Anna Stiefvater, RN, MPH lives in Portland, is the mother of two middle school girls and is the Perinatal Nurse Consultant for the Oregon Public Health Division. In her role at the Public Health Division, she coordinates teams of staff and stakeholders and partners to develop and implement programs and policies aimed at improving the health of Oregon’s families. Anna has spent over 20 years working with mothers and young families to promote health and prevent disease at the individual, community and policy level. She earned her nursing degree from Pacific Lutheran University and her graduate degree in public health from Boston University.
