In this presentation, Lenora Waconda, MPH with concentration in Epidemiology, presents screening methods for AI/AN Adolescents.  Providing data and evidence based research, Lenora offers resources and rational for adolescent screening for SUD. Early intervention and prevention are key pieces to providing best possible outcomes for youth struggling with SUD.

Lenora Waconda

Lenora Waconda, MPH, is originally from Albuquerque, NM and a member of the Pueblo of Acoma. She has a Masters of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology from the University of New Mexico. While in graduate school she worked for the Albuquerque Area Southwest Tribal Epidemiology Center (AASTEC) where she primarily worked with data related to substance use among adolescents and the opioid epidemic among tribes in the SW region. Right now, she is a student in the Wy’East Pathway program and upon completion, she will matriculate into OHSU’s School of Medicine in August.
