We invite you to join Indian Country ECHO for a Grand Rounds focused on Screening for Infectious Diseases in Phoenix Indian Medical Center Emergency Room: A High Impact Intervention. In this presentation Mary E. Coon, MD, Chief of Emergency Medicine at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, and Tony Nazario, NP at Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC), will share PIMC’s story of expanding screening for HIV, Hepatitis C, and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in their Emergency Room. The one-hour Grand Rounds session includes an opportunity to engage in a didactic presentation on how testing in the ER at PIMC has resulted in a high proportion of new diagnoses and re-linked patients to care, gain insight on PIMC’s workflow for obtaining patient consent, ordering laboratory tests in a busy ER setting, coordinating follow-up, become part of a learning community, and ask questions about expanded screening in Indigenous healthcare systems. CE will be available.
