In this presentation, Beth Dinges, PharmD, Minh Q. Ho, DO, FIDSA, and Tessa Rife-Pennington, PharmD, BCGP, discuss expansion of harm reduction services and implementation of syringe services programs (SSP) within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and key lessons learned from three federal health facilities. Beth, Minh, and Tessa share how Veterans Affairs facilities in Danville, Illinois, Orlando, Florida, and San Francisco, California, worked to clarify legal considerations, address barriers, and implement syringe services programs that are integrated in the healthcare systems.
