In this presentation, Kimberly Page, PhD, MPH, Professor of Epidemiology at The University of New Mexico, describes injection practices among people who inject drugs (PWID) before, during, and after HCV treatment with DAAs. Dr Page also examines whether sharing injecting equipment during HCV treatment is associated with not achieving sustained virology response (SVR), or cure and if treatment of HCV among PWID may lead to other health benefits related to safer drug use practices.
