The August MCH ECHO clinic focused on the new Native Boost Vaccine Confidence Training for Early Childhood Educators & Staff.  Presenters for this session included team members from the Native Boost Project at the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board, Dr. Lakota Scott, ND, Expert Provider and Tyanne Conner, Project Manager. Then, Dr Thomas Weiser, Medical Epidemiologist Contractor with the Northwest Native American Research Centers for Health (NW NARCH) at the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board, shares an exciting opportunity to join the NW NARCH End of Summer Research Training Institute  training track in Population, Family, and Reproductive Health Epidemiology.

Lakota Scott is Diné from Arizona. She is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with a certificate in Natural Childbirth; completed her ND training at the National University of Natural Medicine. She works as an integrative healthcare provider in private practice and as the Native Boost Provider Expert at the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB).
Tyanne Conner is the Native Boost Project Manager at the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB). She came to NPAIHB from the CDC Foundation, where she served as the COVID-19 Public Health Workforce Development Trainer. Prior to that Tyanne worked at OHSU School of Medicine as a Program Technician for the Undergraduate Medical Education Program.
Thomas Weiser, MD, a retired US Public Health Service (PHS) Medical Epidemiologist, and current Medical Epidemiologist Contractor with the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board’s Northwest Native American Research Centers for Health leading the Population, Family and Reproductive Health Epidemiology Course. He had been with PHS since 1998, initially serving as an IHS Medical Officer in Whiteriver, Arizona from 1998-2005. He completed the CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service from 2005-2007. In addition to supporting general public health and epidemiologic research at the NW Tribal Epidemiology Center, Tom was also the Co-Chair of the Portland Area IHS Institutional Review Board. Nationally, he has served on the IHS Heroin, Opioids and Pain Efforts (HOPE) Committee as the Chair of the Metrics Sub-committee and as the former IHS ex-officio representative to the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
