In this didactic presentation, Dr. Carol Greenlee, endocrinologist, discusses the management of diabetic kidney disease, its association with increased cardiovascular risk, and recommendations to slow the progression of DKD and preserve renal function. Mary Carol Greenlee, MD, FACP, FACE, is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and is in private practice at Western Slope Endocrinology in Grand Junction, Colorado. She is currently serving on the Endocrine Society Council after several years on the Society’s Clinical Affairs Core Committee. She has a special interest in care delivery issues and has been actively involved with the collaborative project sponsored by the Endocrine Society to develop tools to assist with the transition from pediatric to adult care for patients with endocrine disorders.
