Faculty

Andrea Alexander is a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and is Muscogee (Creek). She currently lives in Shawnee, Oklahoma. From her Seminole lineage she is Sweet Potato Clan and of the Nurcup Harjo Band. She has a BA in sociology with a Substance Abuse Studies option from the University of Central Oklahoma and an associate in applied science in Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counseling from Oklahoma State University-OKC. She is in long term recovery and is enjoying focusing on the Wellbriety model of healing, she is honored to be a curriculum trainer for White Bison.

Andrea is trained and certified in the White Bison Curriculums for Wellbriety Celebrating Families, Medicine Wheel & 12 Steps (Men, Women, and Youth), Mending Broken Hearts (Adults and Youth), and Warrior Down. She has over 15 years of experience in implementing Medicine Wheel and 12 Steps in her Oklahoma community. She has provided training and consultation to Tribal communities, state and private prisons, treatment centers, governmental agencies, and the grassroots recovery community at large.

Peer Recovery Specialist ECHO Program

Andrea is faculty for the Peer Recovery Specialist ECHO Program, which is designed to educate peer specialists in the management and care of patients with substance use disorders.
