In this presentation, CAPT Heather Huentelman, PharmD, BCPS, shares the story of Phoenix Indian Medical Center’s (PIMC) program to end the syndemic using a comprehensive approach to prevent, screen, treat, and manage HCV, HIV, SUDs, and STIs.

CAPT Heather Huentelman, PharmD, BCPS, completed rotations in Cherokee, NC and decided to dedicate her career to serving AI/AN. She completed a pharmacy residency in 2004 at Phoenix Indian Medical Center and has been part of the HIV Center of Excellence since her first day on campus. Heather has trained over 100 pharmacy students in HIV and prevention services and helped multiple sites within IHS establish HIV pharmacy services. She will be entering her 17th year of service in June.
